The service charges at the country's land ports have increased by 5 percent. The amount of taxes, tolls, and fees charged for services at the port has increased by this rate compared to the previous rate. The Bangladesh Land Port Authority has issued a notification stating that it will be effective from January 1 of the new year.
The charges at Benapole Land Port are slightly higher than at other land ports. Therefore, a separate notification has been issued for Benapole Port. Charges are collected for 27 types of services at Benapole Land Port. For passengers who will use Benapole Land Port, the charge amount in 2025 is 49 taka 79 paisa. It has been increased to 52 taka 27 paisa for 2026.
If buses, trucks, and lorries imported through Benapole Port enter, they will now have to pay 184 taka 70 paisa. Earlier, the amount was 175 taka 90 paisa. The fee for motor cars, jeeps, pickups, and three-wheelers is 110 taka 82 paisa. The new fee for motorcycles and bicycles is 36 taka 95 paisa.
The fee for using the weighing machine at the Benapole land port is 88 taka 65 paisa for trucks and lorries. On the other hand, the fee for processing documents is 195 taka 07 paisa. If a vehicle stays in the yard all night, it is 111 taka 49 paisa. In addition, if the goods are stored in the warehouse, the fee increases according to the time the goods are stored. Thus, the amount of all types of fees has increased.
The fee has also increased by 5 percent at land ports other than Benapole. For passengers who will use land ports other than Benapole, the fee in 2025 was 49 taka 79 paisa. For the new year, it has been increased to 52 taka 27 paisa.
Buses, trucks, and lorries imported through ports other than Benapole land port will now have to pay 159 taka 22 paisa. Earlier, it was 151 taka 64 paisa. The fee for motor cars and jeeps is 95 taka 52 paisa. The new fee for motorcycles, scooters, baby taxis, and three-wheelers is 47 taka 83 paisa. In addition, the fee has been increased depending on the product, even though different types of products are imported.
The Bangladesh Land Port Authority said that, like every year, the fee has been increased this year too. The new fee will be implemented from January 1. The fee is the source of income for the land port.
