A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the state-owned Rupali Bank Limited and the Padakhep Manabik Unnayan Kendra to make the country self-sufficient in ginger cultivation and encourage ginger cultivation in hilly areas.
The MoU was signed at the boardroom of the bank's head office recently for the implementation of a special program titled 'Agricultural Loan for Ginger Cultivation in the Hill Areas at 4% Concessional Rate Interest' in collaboration with Rupali Bank's Hill Tracts Branch and Padakhep Manabik Unnayan Kendra.
In the presence of Rupali Bank Chairman MP Mr. Manzur Hossain and Managing Director and CEO Mr. Mohammad Obaid Ullah Al Masood, GM of the Bank's Agricultural, Rural Credit and Microcredit Department Mr. Mohammad Mojibur Rahman and Executive Director of Padakhep Manabik Unnayan Kendra Mr. Saleh Bin Shams signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Directors of the bank Mr. Arijit Chowdhury, Mr. Mohammad Khalilur Rahman and Mr. Mohammad Delwar Hossain gave virtual speeches on the occasion. Deputy Managing Directors Mr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Mr. Khandaker Ataur Rahman and Mr. Mohammad Jahangir, all the General Managers of the Bank and senior officials of both the organizations were present at the occasion.
