BEN & GAWS manufactures a wide range of grain storage flat bottom silos from 300 MT up to 15,000 MT in a single bin according to the latest available globally approved standards. The design of BEN & GAWS dry bulk storage silos is made according to the loads on silo bins derived from American standard ANSI- ASAE EP 433:88 REV 2006 or German standard DIN 1055 1987, wind load calculation (standard for 180 kmph and maximum up to 250 kmph)follows German standard DIN 1055-4:2005-03, snow & ice load calculation follows German standard DIN 1055-5: 2005-07. All the silos are designed according to respective seismic zone according to uniform building codes and applicable snow load depending on the installation site. It uses UNI EN 10346: 2009 S350 GD+Z grade ultra-high tensile and high-yield steel with fine molecular structure and controlled internal purity. It combines outstanding mechanical properties like fatigue resistance, toughness, and formability along with abrasion resistance.
TATA BLUESCOPE is made of marine grade Zin-Alume-Silicon Alloy steel of AZ 150 or AZ 200, which offers the best available surface protection against corrosion even in the harshest environment like coastal regions or regions with high rainfall or snowfall, is used for wall sheets and roof panels. It is offered with a yield strength of a minimum of 300 MPa to a minimum of 550 MPa depending on the application. ZINCALUME® steel complies with AS1397, ASTM A792M, IS 15961, and ISO 9364 standards. As an alternative solution, pre-galvanized steel with G300 to G450 grade galvanizing is also used for corrosion protection.
The structural calculation for BEN & GAWS silos is considered for a probability period of 50 years, designed for high cyclic loading, i.e. high usage of the product in and out and at high tonnage rates. Ben & Gaws silo ranges are designed, detailed, and manufactured all at one site, because of this one-site operation, BEN & GAWS can and often do manufacture non-standard silos, so if your needs are different from those in the standard range please do not hesitate to ask.
